Our project process is structured specifically to allow creative concepts to develop and allow projects to naturally grow and mature. Progressing from the early conceptual stages to the completion, we ensure no stone is left unturned, allowing clients to be comfortable with the knowledge that all permutations and progressive iterations of the design have been explored before settling on a final configuration. 


Conceptual Design

Starting with larger decisions such as determining the general design goals and spatial planning, we work closely with the client to ensure we are synchronised with all requirements to head in the right direction. We will explore multiple combinations of spaces to determine the right configuration, and take on board principles of solar passive design, good circulation, and proximity of different functions in the project, all with a cohesive spatial vision.

Design Development

We will organise and handle the planning approval process with council and do so using the latest CAD packages available using 3D walkthrough methodology. Also, an investigation of ideal construction types, sun angles, materials and indoor / outdoor spaces would take place, with the final result capable of obtaining a Planning Approval from local council.

Construction Drawings

The building licence stage is developing the final drawings ready for quotation by a builder. Prior to this stage we can perform and obtain estimates of cost for budget purposes if requested. Upon completion, we can send and manage the drawing set (including structural engineering and energy certificates) for obtaining a Building Licence from local council.

Council Liaison

Sometimes we are asked to push the design to the limit to make maximum use of a project - during this stage we can negotiate and revise the design with the council to get as good a result as possible. It is common for us to be present at council meetings and discuss in depth with planning officers for larger, extensive or complex projects.

Interior Design

We are passionate about interiors, projects are a much a story about the inside as it is the outside. Here we select finishes, lights, fixtures and detail the interiors to ensure the experience of the interior is as best as possible. We have links with trade suppliers and manufacturers to assist us with making this an enjoyable part of the design experience.

Tendering, Negotiations & Contract Administration

One of the major benefits of using Hubble Design is the ability to tender to multiple builders to ensure the best competitive price. Once selected we can adjust the scope and contract to suit the budget, and then administer the building contract between the client and the builder, ensuring close adherence to the design during construction, with the aim to deliver the best result.
