The HomeBuilder Grant - Do I qualify?

The new Home Builder Grant has recently been announced by the federal government. The grant is $25,000 to build a home or renovate an existing home.

To qualify for the Home Builder Grant you need to enter into a building contract before the 31st of December 2020 for any of the following:

  • A new home up to a value of $750,000

  • A renovation between $150,000 and $750,000 (if your property is worth not more than $1.5 million)

The grant requires you need a to engage a Registered Builder and that a Building Permit is obtained, and must "improve the accessibility, safety and liveability of the dwelling". We can assist in obtaining a suitable Registered Builder for you and organising a Building Permit too.

Other requirements are listed in this document from the Department of the Treasury.

In addition to this grant, you may also be eligible for the WA Government stimulus grant, look here for more information.
